Dropped off Sis for her earlier than early flight to Hawaii and was jonesing for breakfast. Went to the Denny's in Fife near the EQC casino and I guy drove up to me, offering to sell me an iPad or GPS. I got back in my car and left because I didn't want him selling stuff from my car while I was eating. So I came here and was surprised to see that this Dennys was trying. The updated look was kinda cool and the waitress was so friendly in spite of how early it was. I got a Moon Over My Hammy and they weren't screwing around with the ham. I got a large portion which was nice, but even better was the crispy grilled cheesey-like consistency of the bread that you expect from this dish. I had the dining room to myself which I loved, and I got to leave just as other customers came in. Usually Dennys is a depressing place to go to and I go there for a mood. This place wasn't that. They are really trying and I appreciate that.
This was another good visit to this location. We like the convenience of the location and the service brings us back. Coffee was great and fresh. Our server was attentive and made sure we had all we need. Clean bathrooms were nice, too.

Denney's has stepped up their game with their new Meltdown offerings: https://themeltdown.com/ . Have only tried the Tumwater location twice, but the second time (5/6/23 - 3pm) was even better than the first. Super easy online ordering and pickup without even talking to anyone if I want. And the quality-taste of the melts is great!
This location serves the usual Denny's fare - solid, dependable, predictable food you can find at any Denny's anywhere. Food was a three star affair. Good enough to do the job in an acceptable way. Our Thanksgiving Day turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy dinner was passably good tasting. My salad was generous enough in portion of iceberg lettuce with accompanying veggies plus shredded cheese and decently tangy balsamic dressing on the thick side, almost like a reduction. At $11.79 per meal it seemed a good price to avoid cooking & cleanup on turkey day, to say nothing of not having to deal with leftovers later. Pumpkin and pecan pies were okay on flavor, though far from the best I've found. But the $2 per slice set the price:quality ratio in an acceptable range. Coffee tasted good, but at $3.59 per cup doesn't qualify as a good deal for a straight cuppa joe. Our server Donte earned them the extra star by being conscientious in keeping us on his radar. He was quick to bring requested items, topping up coffee mugs in a timely manner, and being friendly, courteous, & professional throughout the meal. A good job done well.
